Honoring Our Heroes this Memorial Day


Wondering how you can pay tribute to the heroes of America and celebrate this Memorial Day weekend? There is no better place to celebrate Memorial Day and pay tribute on Memorial Day weekend than in our nation’s capital, Washington, DC. In DC there are numerous unique and meaningful events, exhibits and celebrations designed to recognize and pay tribute to the men and women that gave up their lives defending our freedoms and country.

National Memorial Day Parade

Want to experience the largest Memorial Day Parade in the country? The National Memorial Day Parade features bands, floats, performers and of course, our military veterans. The National Memorial Day Parade is scheduled to start at 2PM on Monday, May 28, 2018. We recommend arriving early if you want the best view possible! For those that can’t make it in person, the National Memorial Day Parade is also televised.

National Memorial Day Concert

What is better than live music? FREE live music! The National Memorial Day Concert from PBS pays tribute to the men, women and families of our veterans that sacrificed for our country and freedom. The event will be hosted by Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna and is scheduled to start at 8PM on Sunday, May 27 2018. Various celebrity performers will be featured at the National Memorial Day Concert.

National Mall Memorials

Want to pay your respects to those who have sacrificed their lives for America? The National Mall features various memorials including the National World War II Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Women’s Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial and even American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial.

National Memorial Day Choral Festival

Another free music event to honor our fallen military, the National Memorial Day Choral Festival is a free concert experience which will feature a 300-voice choir along with the U.S. Air Force Orchestra, performing patriotic classics in honor of our fallen service members.
